GENERAL INFORMATION:

David is practising Contracts and Claims Consultant, a Chartered Builder, Chartered Surveyor, Contracts Manager, Contract Administrator, Cost Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Arbitrator, Adjudicator and Mediator with almost 40 years experience in construction and considerable experience in dispute resolution.

David has providing general advice, drafted, negotiated and administrated contracts, formulated and negotiated contract and insurance claims, assisted in refuting claims, prepared clients for litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and expert determination carried out a number of construction adjudications on a variety of sizes and types of projects (including ground works, painting, test facilities design and build, civil engineering, interim and final accounts, house extensions, Oil and Gas terminals, Tank refurbishment, Building refurbishment and conversions) acted as expert witness on Building (from small domestic to major shopping complexes), Civil Engineering (from marine works to major concrete structures), Oil and Gas projects On and Offshore (including Gravity Based Structures, Pipelines and Subsea work)

David has published articles and in-house papers on contracting strategy, ADR, Audit in Construction, and has lectured and acted as an assessment panel member for graduate and PhD intake at Shell International.

David has acted as Adjudicator on nine occasions on a variety of construction matters from painting payment disputes to complex penultimate certification on major projects.  In addition, David has assisted parties as claimants or respondents in a number of Adjudications and Mediations.  David has prepared or assisted in the preparation of claims for negotiation, Adjudication, Arbitration and Litigation UK and International, matters ranged from small extensions and refurbishments to major offshore structures, pipelines and subsea developments including dealing with matters of professional negligence and has also assisted in defending against such claims
